Why this stop matters
BLUE500 view
Large full-service mainland marina south of Oban, with over 200 berths, deep access, visitor berths, long-term/seasonal berthing, winter storage, extensive facilities, diesel, chandlery and a 30t slipway hoist. Desktop research makes Craobh one of Leg D’s strongest dependable service, layover and launch/recovery locations while still offering a destination feel through the Lord of the Isles and surrounding Craignish peninsula.
Craobh advertises 200+ berths for 5-35m vessels, 4.0m channel depth at LW, power/water/Wi-Fi to all berths, showers, toilets, laundry, recycling, diesel, gas, chandlery, provisions and parking. More than ten dedicated visitor berths are on E pontoon. Seasonal berthing is offered for three or six months, annual berthing is available, and secure hard-standing winter storage is stated for up to 100 vessels. The boatyard’s Wise 30t slipway hoist can handle vessels up to 19m LOA and 5.2m beam; a mobile crane handles masts/other lifts.

What a cruiser needs to know
Field verification still required
APPROACH: verify channel marking, local crosswinds, turning room, visitor pontoon allocation and VHF/contact procedure.
LONG-TERM LAYOVER: confirm transient monthly/shorter-than-season options, unattended-vessel security/CCTV, shore-power policy, emergency checks/keyholding, insurance and whether hard standing can be arranged mid-season.
LAUNCH/RECOVERY: inspect unassisted slipway access as well as 30t hoist, trailer manoeuvring, tide limits, parking/storage and current pricing.
FACILITIES: confirm 2026 opening hours, laundry/shower access, recycling/waste/pump-out, gas/fuel procedures and quality of the chandlery/provisioning offer.
DESTINATION: assess Lord of the Isles, Isles Larder, local walks and whether Craobh is a place crews would choose to spend a rest day or mainly a dependable marina.
