Vessels on the Clyde must contact Clydeport Estuary Control on VHF 12 before moving in the navigation channel. Bowling Sea Lock uses VHF 16/74, call sign Bowling Basin, with locking normally around two hours either side of high water and advance booking. Lower Basin takes craft to 17m/3.5m beam/1.65m draft and provides showers/toilets, laundry, refuse, Elsan, diesel, water, pump-out and a de-masting crane. Current Kelvin Aqueduct works mean inland navigation remains subject to the live reopening notice, though the sea lock remains operational with possible restrictions.
